With the lockdowns and prolonged restrictions, even though we are getting back to normal, more and more of us are finding it hard to remember what we did in normal times. What to wear to weddings, and putting together that perfect outfit, can feel more stressful than maybe it used to.
Many more of us are also still shopping more on the internet, rather than heading back into the shops, so finding that perfect outfit can be even more confusing.
Here are a few of our top tips to help us get back in the swing of it and enjoy looking for that special wedding outfit:

Steer clear of denim and casual dresses– After months and months of comfy loungewear, it can be difficult to gauge what is formal and smart enough when everything is more appropriate than your ‘trackie bottoms’. Those denim dresses are cute but they are never going to be enough for a wedding.

Avoid white and pale dresses/outfits – We know that all of us do know this, but we also know how tempting a white or pale outfit can be as they look so beautiful! Basically, your wedding outfit needs to be totally different to the Brides so that she is the one that stands out and you don’t feel awkward.

Leave the club vibes & go smart – We absolutely love the new ‘dress down’ code that is prevalent at the moment but all of the advice says that it is not suitable for a wedding. Trainers and a blend of smart and casual is probably not the look you are after for the daytime especially.

So what makes the perfect wedding outfit?
- The main thing is something you feel comfortable and confident in. Be clear about what suits you and don’t get distracted by designs that just aren’t for you. Be strict with yourself!
- Look for a material that is comfortable and durable. You will be sitting a lot, eating a lot, drinking a lot. You need something that you will be comfy in all day and that doesn’t crease!
- Think about the season and you may have to consider the theme and style of your bride and grooms day.
- Options for the day and night are also useful. Maybe a jacket is more suitable for the wedding ceremony but you can remove it to change the look for the evening. Men can ditch the ties too maybe at night and give themselves a casual cool look!
