small businesses need our support more than ever
2020 has been a tough year, in so many ways; especially for smaller businesses.
The custom and support we have received ourselves this year has been truly heartwarming and so appreciated. There seems to be a growing emphasis on ‘supporting small’ which is fantastic. Despite the struggles, we think that this year will also be remembered for community and coming together.
We totally understand though that we all have financial limits, and we can’t just keep purchasing from all these small, independent enterprises (as much as we would like to).
So apart from spending money how else can you support small businesses like ours:
1.
Interact with their social posts – Did you know that the more activity a post gets on social media the more it will be seen? Account’s with very low interaction rates, are not deemed as relevant as other accounts so will not be shared as favourably. So next time you’re scrolling through your social feed, drop a little comment in here and there. It will make someone’s day and help their social visibility
2.
Leave a Google review – One of the ways that Google search decides who to show, and in what order, is to see how reliable and trusted they are as a business. Google reviews, over time, have a direct impact on a businesses search rankings. Facebook, Trip Advisor reviews etc, are great too but don’t directly impact Google’s decision making, so if you can, a Google review will go a long way.
3.
Share their blogs and posts – Sorry, we don’t mean to hint too directly but sharing blogs and post really is fantastic for smaller businesses! Not only does it increase our social activity as discussed in point 1 but it also helps us reach a much wider audience without spending money on additional marketing and promotions that is often so difficult for smaller businesses (especially at the moment).
4.
5.
As you can see, there is still a lot you can do to support a small business even if you can’t buy their products.
We know how much your efforts will be appreciated and the difference they can make.
If you would like to, and don’t already, you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram. We really appreciate your support.
