Date

This year Valentine’s Day is going to be different.

There is no denying that booking a fancy restaurant, a night away, sending the kids to their grandparents is sadly not an option this year.

But fear not, we have lots of ideas to make Valentine’s day just as special this year.

Create a nostalgic memory book of your special moments to share together. Show your thoughtful side, and remind your loved one of a time before and what you both still have to look forward to once we are out on the other side. Visit Pinterest for lots of inspiration and ways to make the perfect gift.

Are you planning an intimate meal for two? There are some fantastic take away deals this year. Set the scene and create your own candle lit restuarant . We can recommend the beautiful, romantic scent from The Rhubarb Candle Company – eco soy wax that is vegan and cruelty free so you can love the planet too.

Get creative! If you can’t go out, bring the ‘out’ in! Why not set up a wine tasting night using the mini bottles from the supermarket? Or you could go really upmarket and try champagne tasting!  Or make it a cocktail night? Set up your own bar and go for it. You could even have a ‘create your own cocktail’ competition!

Bear with us on this one. What about a ‘Cinema Night’? An extra special one not the normal ‘in front ot the telly’ one! No expense spared nachos, popcorn, pick and mix (if you do want to push the boat out these macaroons from Ooh La La Patisserie are amazing!). You could even go for ‘Kitchen’ cocktails after!!

Make it virtual. Is there a gig, theatre or comedy show you can watch? Or why not cook a romantic meal and then go for a virtual tour somewhere? You could head to the Louvre in Paris or Taj Mahal. Or you could try an online class together. Maybe a craft or art tutorial or even a cooking class. Get googling!

If you’re really missing the bars, dancing and singing, a Karaoke machine could be a big hit!  If you’re anything like us, you might need the cocktail bar first but once you get going they’ll be no stopping you. Singing exercises your heart and lungs and releases endorphins and we could all do with more of those!

We really hope that we have given you some inspiration and that you can take Valentines Day as an excuse to tell your partner  how much you appreciate them. In a year of of groundhog days, it’s even more important.

Have fun guys and Happy Valentine’s Day.
